The fearless soldier 

Marching through the dust 

The smell of the smolder 

Carried by the gust 

Worried about his kin 

He slowly crawls home 

Mournful of his fallen men 

Awaiting him in heavens dome 

The last of his frontier 

Traumatized and shattered 

One final tear 

He hopes that he mattered
